Who is this actually for?

Patients at a stable weight who carry a pocket of fat under the chin that does not shift with diet or exercise. It is a contouring procedure, not a weight-loss one.

What if my skin is loose as well?

Then liposuction alone can make the looseness more obvious rather than less. Skin quality is assessed before anything else, and if it is the limiting factor Dr. Sibaja will say so and discuss a neck lift or a skin-tightening treatment instead.

Is there a non-surgical option?

Often, yes. Enzyme injections or Morpheus8 can be enough for a modest pocket with good skin. Dr. Sibaja will tell you honestly when the simpler route would get you a result you would be happy with.

What does the procedure involve?

Usually local anaesthesia, through very small access points under the chin and behind the ears. It is a day procedure.

What is the recovery like?

A compression garment is worn for a period, and swelling and bruising settle over the first weeks. The final contour continues to refine for several months as the tissue settles.

Will it come back?

The fat cells removed do not return. Significant weight gain can still change the area, because the remaining cells enlarge. A stable weight protects the result.

Does it change the jawline?

It reveals the jawline rather than building one. If the underlying jaw projection is what you are unhappy with, filler or a different approach addresses that, and Dr. Sibaja will make the distinction clear.

Can it be done with something else?
